Coruja Jones Releases Hauntingly Beautiful New Single "Little Space," A Reflection on Love, Loss, and Healing

Indie-folk artist Coruja Jones returns with his poignant new single, "Little Space," a heart-wrenching yet hopeful dedication to those we never had the chance to love. The single, a taste of what’s to come from his forthcoming EP "Undo," is a reflective and deeply personal journey through love, loss, and the healing process.

"Little Space" was born from an intimate moment of fingerpicking on an acoustic guitar, evolving into a lush and expansive arrangement. Dan Jones, the Manchester-based musician behind Coruja Jones, initially collaborated with guitarist Jake Stentiford to weave intricate, dancing guitar lines that set the emotional tone of the track. Together with producer Sam Vicary and drummer Adam Dawson, they transformed the song into a soaring piece of melancholic beauty, where electric guitar lines and modular synthesisers add depth and texture, particularly in the chorus.

The song delves into the universal experience of unrequited love for someone you never got the chance to meet. Jones wrote "Little Space" after the loss of a pregnancy, channelling his grief into a lullaby that honours the memory of the unborn child. The track also touches on his experiences of never meeting his grandfather and the fading memories of his grandmothers, all of whom passed away before he had the chance to truly know them.

"Little Space" is the lead single from Coruja Jones’s upcoming EP "Undo," set to release in 2024. The EP delves into the healing process in all its forms, exploring the calm and chaos that come from attempting self-betterment and witnessing others' hardships—all through the lens of love. The EP was produced by Sam Vicary of The Cinematic Orchestra.
