Hey Ella Brosnan, how are you doing?

I am doing quite well thank you for asking.

Who are your main influences?

My main influences are Lizzy McAlpine, Noah Kahan and Olivia Rodrigo.

Sum up your music for us in three words?

Sentimental, personal and intimate

What's your biggest musical highlight so far?

Having my debut single reach 10,000 streams is a dream come true and being able to watch my music be listened to around the world. I never thought I would be able to say or do that.

How have friends and family reacted to your journey so far in music?

My friends and family are very supportive and are always excited about what I have planned.

Congratulations on the release of your new single 'The Devil of Time'. We're loving it! How did it come about and what’s the meaning and/or message behind the song?

My father has a chronic illness and as I have grown up I have seen the time slip away. Watching happy moments come few and far between at times. I was in a dark place when I wrote this song as I tried to understand my fears and anxieties around my family's health decline.

What was the recording and writing process like for this song?

I actually did most of the recording process a couple of years ago when I recorded the demo. I then had my vocals by Vocal Engineer Chris Kallis in Brisbane. After deliberation, I recorded the piano to make it more intimate.

How would you describe this single sonically for our readers?

This song is very intimate with only two instruments and vocals. The vibes and piano have a call and response creating an echo effect. We see an increase in dynamics in the chorus to establish the importance of the message in the chorus. The piano is simple to draw you in as if you were in the room as I was singing.

What are your plans for the rest of 2024? What can fans expect?

My plan for the rest of 2024 is to write as much as I can. I have been working with a songwriter Jamie Karl Coupe and he has helped me to continue to be motivated with my songwriting. I am also going to be working with another amazing producer and mixing engineer Jay Rence on another potential single. So exciting stuff is planned for 2024. I am so excited for everyone to finally hear The Devil of Time.
