With his latest single 'Moments' marking another deeply personal release in collaboration with RADA Unearthed, we caught up with the South African artist to dig into the music that’s shaped him. From tracks that sparked early inspiration to songs that still push his creative boundaries today, here are five of SEVVEN’s all-time favourites – in his own words.

Dreams - Fleetwood Mac.

This is just so beautifully written and recorded. I also feel like I pick up something new every time I listen to it and can’t imagine ever getting tired of it.

What Was I Made For - Billie Eillish.

I mean. The journey of this track in Dolby Atmos is just unbelievably good.

Robert Glasper - Say Less.

This is so masterfully played and recorded. One of the best sounding albums I’ve ever heard. Again the Atmos mixes on this album is stunning.

Bon Iver - S P E Y S I D E.

Just listen to it. You’ll know why I love it. It’s so beautiful.

Daft punk - Lose Yourself To Dance.

It’s hard to pick a favourite of this album, but the grooves, production and vibe of this is so dope.

‘Moments’ features on RADA Unearthed Volume Three, a compilation album showcasing South African artists sharing messages of inspiration through their music. SEVVEN has been working with RADA for over ten years. 

RADA is a humanitarian organisation focused on empowering individuals. RADA is your place ofrenewal, an acronym for rape, alcohol, drug, abuse. At RADA, the focus is on self-responsibility andself-awareness, an important attribute that can redefine the way we treat others.

RADA Unearthed is the music side of RADA a project established to support the musical arts,which includes aspiring singers, songwriters and already established artists. RADA builds closerelationships with artists and strives to walk the musical journey together. The purpose is tosupport and promote new music, share messages of inspiration through music and createopportunities to highlight the work that RADA is doing in communities.
