Acclaimed musician and songwriter Stephen Kohler returns with ‘Anthem’, his highly anticipated second solo album. The album features an eclectic blend of rock, power-pop, and dance-inspiring melodies, continuing Kohler’s mission to create music that resonates with the listener's journey toward finding their authentic self.
Anchoring the release is the lead single, “One Way Game,” a compelling exploration of the imbalance in one-sided relationships. Featuring the soulful vocals of Mary Norris, the track fuses emotional depth with an infectious groove, delivering a universal message of self-worth and empowerment. “We need to stop chasing relationships that are one-sided,” Kohler reflects.
Produced by five-time Grammy nominee Liam Davis, Anthem showcases Kohler’s signature storytelling through a mix of traditional rock instrumentation and symphonic flourishes, including oboe and cello. Tracks such as “Emergency Exit,” “Killing You,” and “Faustian Bargain” explores how we often become our own obstacles in the search for fulfillment.
