Resident Bohemian Releases Psychedelic New Single 'Space Time Traveller'

Dave Bedford

London-based outfit Resident Bohemian releases their debut single, “Space Time Traveller”—an introspective rock odyssey that contemplates life’s fleeting nature in the vast expanse of the universe. Spearheaded by songwriting duo Rikki and CJ and bandmate Dre, the pair got their name from writing and residing in an abandoned run-down townhouse on the river Thames in Sunbury, once belonging to the Mayor of London.

Blending progressive rock, psychedelia, and singer-songwriter sensibilities, “Space Time Traveller” features rich instrumentation that immerses the listener in an ethereal soundscape. The lyrics delve into themes of insignificance and wonder, reflecting on how we are all “lost in the billions, a grain of sand, a box in a building”.

“To be lost in the billions,” says the band, “is to acknowledge the vastness of existence and embrace the fleeting nature of our time on this earth.”

Written down the road from where Pink Floyd recorded ‘Another Brick in the Wall’, the track was uniquely recorded between midnight and 2 AM. The song was later taken to RAK Studios, where it was partially re-recorded using the very guitar from “Stairway to Heaven” and produced by Jonathan Quarmby (David Bowie, Lewis Capaldi), adding a layer of rock ‘n’ roll mystique to its sonic tapestry.

From a bohemian lifestyle in an abandoned house on the River Thames to recording on legendary ground, Resident Bohemian’s journey is as cinematic as their sound. Space Time Traveller is a mesmerizing introduction to a band that merges rock’s past with a vision of the infinite.
